Karen and Mick got married last week in the beautiful church in Tías, Lanzarote. I met them a couple of days before the wedding and as usual, on our first meet they looked at me like “Oh my, she’s young”, which is a reaction I always get! Must be the fact I’m only 5ft4 and have blonde hair!

Wedding day

I met Karen at the hotel where she was staying on the day of the wedding to do the preparation shots, along with her bridesmaids, friends and parents. The whole family were such a pleasure to work with, so friendly and energetic. I couldn’t help but laugh at some of the conversations I kept overhearing either! We arrived at the church where Karen met Mick, waiting for her at the end of the aisle. The ceremony was beautiful and the priest was also in a very good mood, cracking up a few jokes here and there.

Later on we all gathered at the Costa Calero hotel in Puerto Calero for the reception. Karen planned her wedding right down to the very last detail which meant I had the opportunity to take some stunning pictures of the accessories. After a while, I noticed most of the men had all gone off somewhere, only to find them all getting dressed into super hero t-shirts! Another one of Karen’s ideas.

We head down to the Marina in Puerto Calero to shoot some romance shots which is such a lovely place to shoot such photos.

What They Thought!

The day was so exciting and full of laughter, I really enjoyed working with Karen & Mick and I know that despite their initial reaction, they were absolutely thrilled with their photos! – They had this to say:

“Thank you so much for our Wedding photos and DVD. Our Wedding Day was the biggest and most important day in both of our lives and thanks to you we have the most beautiful photos as a keepsake. You are a fabulous girl with a special talent and a great eye for a lovely photo idea and you couldn’t have been more helpful. We would highly recommend you. We would like to wish you the best of luck in your future.

Thanks again, Karen and Mick Bolger”
